WITH reference to the article in last week's Globe, regarding more wind farms in the Irish Sea, someone has informed Cllr Pat Hackett that more wind farms will create many jobs in the area.
One needs to ask the question: "How many local jobs are in force now with regards to the wind farms currently off the Wirral coastline"?
I think you will find that there are very few, no units are manufactured in the UK. Foreign ships bring in foreign made components to be partly assembled at Mostyn in Flintshire, North Wales, they are then taken into the bay by a foreign built vessel for installation in the selected area.
Wind turbines are inefficient both economically and productivity wise and a blot on the horizon, and windfarm planners are promising employment which will not happen. I Wilson by email.
