Dunne - the gloves are off ahead of Shakers showdown
11:35am Thursday 14th March 2013 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Confident - U's boss Joe Dunne wants his team to battle all the way against Bury on Saturday.
Colchester United boss Joe Dunne wants his side to come out fighting in their relegation six-pointer at Bury.
But the U’s manager has hinted he may have to make changes, as the club’s League One survival battle begins to take its toll.
Dunne will today begin preparing his players for their crucial basement battle with the Shakers, at Gigg Lane.
The Irishman has stressed Colchester must not dwell on their disappointment of relinquishing a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Coventry City, on Tuesday night.
But an energy-sapping run of six games in the space of 18 days has pushed the U’s players to the limit and Dunne says he may need to freshen things up.
Dunne said: “We have to go to Bury now and have a real toe to toe with them.
“The gloves are off for Saturday - I think it will be a street fight and I want to win it."

A good ref indeed is required.

I can't stand seeing footballers wearing gloves, especially with short sleeved shirts.

Most importantly, here's hoping for a neutral referee. Up the U's.
.
As for the energy-sapping run of games, the same applies to the other teams, especially Oldham.
