4:30pm Monday 14th January 2013 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Colchester United have signed goalkeeper Sam Walker from Premier League side Chelsea until the end of April, The 21-year-old has linked up with the U's, having spent time on loan at League Two side Bristol Rovers earlier in the season.
Walker started as a schoolboy at Millwall, before moving to Stamford Bridge.
He becomes Colchester's sixth signing this month, following the permanent arrivals of Josh Thompson and Jack Compton from Portsmouth and the loan moves for Dominic Samuel, George Porter and Walker's Chelsea team-mate, Billy Clifford.

PS: Check out official col utd website - Dunne stays PLUS expect 2/3 new signings; direct quote from RC.
To all posters over last few days I would like to say I've really enjoyed all the comments. Some real depth shown and highlights that despite the frequency of mini arguments on here that what shows through is the care for club.

Think we still need an experienced centre defender (Eastman and josh both look good but I think an older head would help).
I sincerely think once we get that win we will go on a run.
Still be nice to see the arsenal boys to come back, I think that may be a wish to much.

What is the point in paying a good man a salary just to sit on the bench? And he won't even be doing that now, if Cousins is sitting there.

"Goalkeeper Sam Walker believes being dropped from the Bristol Rovers side earlier this season has served to give him a much-needed 'kick up the
backside.' The 21 year old let in
nineteen goals as Rovers struggled to
find any sort of form."
John Ward has now brought
in an experienced goalkeeper,
Steve Mildenhall,33,to replace Walker.

Although I would of preferred an experienced goalkeeper. If Van der sar could of played til 35+ years there must be some good goal keepers out there going into retirement.
