Dunne accepts that he may lose Woody
COLCHESTER United boss Joe Dunne admits there is every chance he could lose star midfielder Anthony Wordsworth.
The U’s skipper has been in top form, scoring in last weekend’s victory against Bury and walking away with the man-of-the-match bubbly after Tuesday’s defeat at Coventry.
It has prompted speculation that the 23-year-old - out of contract next summer - could be lured away from the West Homes Community Stadium.
And Dunne accepts that may be the case, especially with his club having to be more prudent than ever due to the Football League’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
“I’m the manager of the club but it doesn’t bother me to say that I’m still surprised he’s here," said the U's boss.
“Will I lose him? Probably.
“It’s the way of football at the moment, I’m afraid."

Woody is capable of playing in the Championship regularly but continues to frustrate with his inconsistency. He is the one player I have digs at the most when underperforming because he is the one player at the club who can be quite brilliant if he wants.
