Dunne left hurting after U's defeat
1:39pm Sunday 11th November 2012 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Disappointed - U's boss Joe Dunne was left dejected after seeing his side lose 3-2 at Crewe Alexandra.
Colchester United manager Joe Dunne admitted he was left hurting after seeing his side surrender a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Crewe Alexandra.
Goals from Freddie Sears and Ian Henderson inside the first half hour had put the U’s in charge, at Gresty Road.
But strikes from Lauri Dalla Valle, Luke Murphy and Mathias Pogba gave the Railwaymen victory and condemned Colchester to a third successive defeat.
Dunne said: “I’m hurt and this is the worst I’ve felt after a game.
“It was a situation where we were comfortable and it seems to be when we concede the first goal.
“We felt aggrieved by the first goal because we thought it might have been offside but they’ve had two other opportunities after that where they’ve scored.
“We were left chasing the game again after being in a good position and it seems to be a habit at the moment but the players have got to keep going.
“The commitment and effort is all there and we showed good quality moments but maybe we got too comfortable, in terms of being in charge of the game.
“We need to look at it closely and we need to bounce back.”

If I could make one critticism, I would say the team has become too predictable, It doesn't take long for the opposition coach to suss-out, and react to our strength's and our weaknesses. This may be why we tend to fade, and become less effective as the game unfolds.
Maybe if the wingmen swapped wings (second half) or we slightly changed our formation, this may confuse the opposition to our advantage..Just my observation..

Joe, I think many U's fans share your hurt and frustration with the latest bad result at Crewe. Like your predesessor you can only put out what you think is your strongest side on the day. Today in the East Anglian Ian Henderson mentions that the Crewe manager changed his teams tactics for the 2nd half. Its not a moan or criticizing in any way but Joe did say he would have plan B if necessary if it meant winning in any way. Up the U;s win or lose

Would like to see Rose, Wilson and Magnus dropped.
Rose – Puts a good ball into the box and takes an excellent free kick. I am sure that is why he is in the team rather than actually being able to defend. Basically he is not a defender but maybe at best a defensive midfielder? Bombs forward and leaves a hole that most teams take advantage of. Lets players run past him far too easily. Too slow.
Wilson – Another who bombs forward and leaves us wanting at the back. Needs to put in a tackle earlier rather than letting the player get into the box before the last ditch kamikaze tackle. His performances this season have been poor compared to when he first arrived.
Magnus – What some fans see in him I just do not know! The ‘ROCK’ more like the ‘BALSA WOOD’ of defenders. Absolutely hapless at set piece marking and if anyone runs at him he just does not know what to do. It seems he is meant to be the playmaker from defence to get us started but all I ever see is him hitting the ball hard upfield. He has not got a footballing brain. Maybe after Saturdays game basketball would be best? What was he thinking of.
I would like to see Joe try Coker in at Left back, White or Duguid in at Right Back and anyone who can actually defend in at centre back beside young Eastman.
