Colchester United have suffered an injury blow after on-loan winger Sanchez Watt was ruled out for several weeks with a torn hamstring.

The Arsenal loanee suffered the injury in the U’s 3-1 FA Cup defeat at Chelmsford City, last weekend.

Colchester boss Joe Dunne confirmed this morning that the young forward could now return to the Emirates for treatment and may have played his final game for the U's.

Watt joined the U’s on a three-month loan from the Gunners, at the end of September.

Dunne said: “Sanchez has been a credit to us and Arsenal but we could possibly have seen the last of him at Colchester for now.

“You can’t rush those kind of things back.”

A real blow - let's hope he makes a quicker recovery than anticipated.

Such a shame! We looked so strong collectively with him playing so well. Maybe the 'new-look' team has played its last match together. We will miss Sanchez, but we all thank him for his tremendous contribution to getting us up the table from where we were when he joined us with Craig Eastmond - bottom of Division One. The only way now to continue is up! Up the U's!!

Shame, he was by far the best player we had in recent games. Need to loan a player similar to him.

It's such a big pity as he had settled down well and was playing some really good stuff for us. I would love to see him back with us once he has recovered from this unfortunate injury. In the mean time lets hope you get back quicker than expected and thanks for what you have given us so far.

Its a big shame, All the best Sanchez Watt. You have been a great player for us, and we would all welcome you back if you decide to come back on loan.
