Defying the cold and heavy downpours, Brightlingsea’s hardy residents turned out in force to support the 59th town carnival.
The traditional street procession was the focus of the event, but there was also plenty of fun to be had at the Bayard recreation ground, where organisers had laid on a wide range of displays and attractions.
