Women's Institute THE speaker at the November meeting of Lawford WI was Stephanie Sargent of Lawford whose talk was My Father's Shop. She explained it had been her great grandfather who founded the shop in South Street, Manningtree in 1822 and she had been born on the same day some 115 years later.

Parish Church A CHRISTMAS workshop to raise funds for St Mary's Church, Lawford is being held in Ogilvie Hall, Lawford on Saturday, December 6 from 10am to 4pm. Organised by the church's flower ladies this will be a relaxing day making a door wreath or table decoration plus being able to watch cake decorating. The cost is £20 and includes lunch.
