A furious mother has been left reeling after a changes to school buses could cost her her job.
Michelle Bowman, 41, of Orchard Drive, Mayland, is up in arms after her daughter is no longer allowed on the school bus because she does not live in the catchment area.
Instead Mrs Bowman, a clerical assistant, now picks her child up from school every afternoon.
She said: “The only other bus my daughter can get home is nearly an hour after school finishes.
“I don’t want her hanging around in Maldon for an hour, especially now the nights are getting darker.
“It could definitely affect my work.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous that they have deliberately taken away a service that so many people rely on.”
The D3 bus which took the public to and from Mayland and the school campus has been cut by Essex County Council .
