A Maldon supermarket has been selected alongside just one other in the UK to trial an innovative new way of buying CDs and DVDs on demand.

Tesco is the first supermarket giant to experiment with the machines, which allow shoppers to choose from tens of thousands of albums, TV shows and films and have them burnt to disc there and then.

The idea is being trailled at the Maldon store in Fullbridge.

The Discs on Demand kiosks, which have been created in conjunction with software firm Tribeka and also produce a printed sleeve and artwork, are also being tried out at a store in Dudley in the West Midlands ahead of being rolled out elsewhere.
