A GRIEVING family has revealed their heartache at being no closer to finding out what happened to their mum five years after she went missing.

Sandra Gant, of Wellesley Road, Clacton, was last seen on November 15, 2003.

Police launched a murder investigation not long after her disappearance but no one has ever been charged despite four arrests.

Her four children, Lauren and Michaela Cheasley, of Colchester, Carrie Mead, of Great Oakley and Peter Cheasley, of London, have today renewed their appeal for information.

The family’s experience will be told on the TV chat show Trisha in the next few months.

But Sandra’s children are keen for people’s memories to be jogged on the fifth anniversary of her disappearance.

Lauren, of Brooklands, Colchester, admitted they were 99 per cent certain their mum was killed.

“We are certain she would have been in touch with us if she was still here,” said the 22-year-old.

“That’s the hardest part, not knowing what’s happened to her.

“At least if we can find her body we can say goodbye properly - it would give us a bit more closure.

“Mum’s dad died without knowing what has happened and her mum’s wish is to know before she goes.”
