A FURIOUS driving instructor is calling for action claiming broken or obscured road signs are causing a danger to drivers.
Mark Cole, of Rectory Road in Wrabness, runs A Drive driving school.
But while he has been out teaching new drivers on the roads of north Essex he has noticed a number of road signs in a "near third world state of disrepair".
"I'm on the committee of the Colchester Driving Instructors Association and we are so fed up with the state of the road signs and road markings across north Essex.
"We are arranging a meeting with MP's Bernard Jenkin, Douglas Carswell and Will Quince as well as Essex County councillor for roads Rodney Bass."
An Essex Highways spokesperson said: “Anyone who notices a broken road sign or one that is obscured by vegetation can report it by calling 0845 603 7631."
