A man has been charged with wounding with intent to inflict GBH in connection with an assault in Melbourne Avenue.
A 34-year-old man suffered serious head injuries during the attack, which happened at about 8pm on Monday, July 6.
A 27-year-old man from Chelmsford has been charged with wounding with intent to inflict GBH in connection with an assault in Melbourne Avenue on Monday, July 6.
Lloyd Kenlan of no fixed address appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 16.
A 19-year-old man from Chelmsford who was arrested on July 10 on suspicion of assault was released on police bail until August 24, pending further enquiries.
July 7
A man suffered serious head injuries during an assault in Melbourne Avenue, Chelmsford.
Police were called at around 8.10pm on Monday, July 6 with reports of an assault.
Officers attended and found that a 34-year-old man had sustained serious but not life-threatening head injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he continues to receive treatment.
Police are looking to trace a man in connection with the incident.
He is described as black and of slim build.
He was wearing a white vest top with jeans.
