A TEENAGER had her bag snatched as she walked along a path in Dovercourt.

The 18-year-old woman was walking close to the Royal Oak football ground on Main Road with a friend at 1.30am on Monday when the incident happened.

They were approached by two men wearing dark hooded tops. One grabbed the woman’s bag and ran off through an alleyway towards Maple Close.

The bag had a leather appearance with a triangle shaped gold zip and contained a set of keys with two keyrings, one with a letter B and one containing a photo of a dog and a pink purse.

Investigating officer Pc Andy Aguda said: "This was an opportunistic and cowardly theft that left two teenagers feeling frightened and vulnerable. I would like to speak to anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the theft."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Pc Aguda at Harwich Police station on 101 or CrimeStoppers on 0800555111.
