PRIME Minister David Cameron visited Colchester today.

Mr Cameron spent the afternoon at Fläkt Woods, in Axial Way.

He was in town to announce plans to match-fund the development of a feasibility study on dualling the A120 between Braintree and Marks Tey.

But the Prime Minster stopped short of promising the plans - backed by business and trade organisations - would definitely be included in the Road Investment Strategy, due to be published in 2020.

In an exclusive interview with The Gazette, Mr Cameron said: “We are saying, if there is a Conservative Government, we will match fund this study into the A120 and it could be included in the next Road Investment Strategy. "
