THE Black Buoy, Wivenhoe, has been named by the Campaign for Real Ale as Rural Pub of the Year for north east Essex.
Manager Stephen Kilbey said: “We’re over the moon.
Since the pub’s relaunch just over a year ago, sourcing great beer has been at the core of our business. We aim to find the best local and regional ales and make sure they are served in tip-top condition.”
A beer festival will be held over the May bank holiday weekend.
The award will be presented at 8pm on Wedneday.
