SCORES of campaigners from north Essex attended a rally in Westminster that called on Essex County Council to scrap its controversial part night lighting scheme.
The event attracted more than 100 people from across the county, including about 60 protesters from Harwich, Clacton and Colchester.
Campaigners aim to put pressure o n Essex County Council to switch the county’s streetlights back on all night.
Harwich town councillor Dave McLeod said he believed the group had got their message across effectively.
He said: “It was a successful day and we were there singing and holding placards. Our message was well and truly put over. “
