A NEW runner is taking on the London Marathon in memory of a baby who died aged just four months.
Melissa Nimmons will run the marathon on April 26 in aid of SMA Trust and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Nelle Francis died on January 2 after being diagnosed with type one spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) at two months old.
Melissa, who is a friend of Nelle’s Joe Francis, hopes to raise £1,500 for both charities.
She said: “I completed a half-marathon in September last year and decided to enter the ballot to see if I could get a space to raise more money."
