Villagers will soon be able to travel further afield, thanks to a £50,000 investment in a new bus service.
Sible Hedingham Parish Council hope to commission a new regular weekday service, which could serve Sible Hedingham, Castle Hedingham, Toppesfield and Great Yeldham before heading to Sudbury.
The money to fund the service, which is set to start running in March next year, comes from an agreement with developer Bloor Homes, who are building 193 homes on the former Premdor factory site in Sible Hedingham.
Parish council chairman Gill Massey said that the minibus is likely to run three times each day and a crucial morning service could get to Sudbury before 8am, so passengers are able to catch trains and connecting buses to industrial estates and West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds.
