A SCRAPBOOK looking back at the Guy Carnival through the ages is being sold to raise money for charity.

Chris Root, an avid participant in the Harwich event, has put together stories and photographs of the 160-year-old carnival.

He is hoping to sell the book at £10 a copy, with all profits going straight to the event organisers, the Harwich and Dovercourt Rotary Club.

The book will be available at the bucket shop, in Kingsway, Dovercourt, until the event on Saturday night or afterwards by calling 01255 551749.

A final count of more than 20 floats has been revealed for tomorrow's event.

The 160-year-old tradition will see dancers, charities and organisations make their way in a torch-led procession from Dovercourt Green to West Street, in Harwich.

Bigheads are still available for the carnival, which starts at 6pm, by reservation on 07909 513720 or by visiting the Bighead and Bucket shop at 36 Kingsway, Dovercourt, between 11am and 3pm today or tomorrow.

Collection buckets are available from the shop between 10am and 5pm today or 10am and 1pm tomorrow.

Children and adult fancy dress entries will be judged before the procession at 5.30pm at the top of Ainger Road, Dovercourt.
