A mum has criticised a hospital after she was sent home in “severe” pain, suffering a suspected blood clot.
Kelly Ricketts, 32, of Heybridge, arrived at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, at 7.11pm last Wednesday in accident and emergency and was still waiting for treatment gone midnight.
A Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust spokesman said: “Ms Ricketts came into A&E last Wednesday at 7.11pm and after initial assessment to determine and ensure that her condition was not immediately life threatening (triage), she was seen by medical staff at 10.13pm.
“Following further assessment she was prescribed with medication as a precaution for any suspected blood clots and was discharged from the hospital at 12.30am.
“Scanning for DVT is done in a follow up appointment arranged by the Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU)."
