A CYCLIST was punched twice in the face after crashing into another bike rider.

The riders collided head-on in a subway running under Parkway leading into Central Park, Chelmsford, at about 7.30pm on October 23.

When one of the cyclists approached the other to see if was OK, he was hit in the face, twice.

The attacker is described as being white, about 5ft 7ins tall, well built with short black hair, wearing a dark jacket and riding a mountain bike, believed to be dark coloured.

He was riding with another cyclist, who was skinnier, had long hair and was also riding a mountain bike.

Police investigating the incident believe a number of pedestrians were walking close by to the scene at the time of the attack.
