A HAIRDRESSING salon has risen like a phoenix from the ashes to reopen after being gutted by fire.
Lauren Burne, owner of the Zone One Hair and Beauty Studio in High Street, Downley, was shocked to receive a call on the night of December 6, saying her salon was ablaze.
She said: "Driving to the studio the image that ran through my head was that of a small bonfire aided by Boy Scouts sat in the middle of the floor singing gin gang goolie songs.
"I have no idea why this image portrayed itself into my head but when arriving at the scene, I now realise that it was probably the disbelief and shock of the phone call that caused such a comic vision."
However, determined not to let the catastrophe disrupt her treasured customers, Lauren and her staff divided the team into two and carried on providing their clients with a five-star service working from home.
The salon is currently operating from the beauty studio upstairs as that was left untouched by the fire.
The relaunch of the salon will take place on Valentine's Day.
