AN Amersham charity is building its fifth home for street children in Guatemala.
The Toybox charity, which has been going for nine years, raises money to build houses for children on the streets who would otherwise be unlikely to survive longer than four years.
The money helps youngsters like 16-year-old Luis Lopez return to school and be part of a family.
Sally McIver, charity spokesman, said: "Children like Luis, who ran away from an abusive home only to a worse plight on the streets, can now experience being part of a loving family. They can go to school and we can support them in building a future for themselves.
"We would like to thank all supporters in the Buckinghamshire area, who have supported us in being able to open this new home for former street boys in Guatemala."
There are now a total of 45 children living in Toybox charity homes in Guatemala.
The director of The Toybox charity, Duncan Dyason, is currently in Guatemala and will attend the opening of the new boys' home tomorrow.
