UNLUCKY student Paul Lockwood enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame on hit TV show Blind Date but failed to get the girl.
Paul, 21, of Firs Close, Hazlemere, told Cilla he tries to pull the ladies by sometimes dressing up as a woman when he goes out.
He said that appearing on the show on Saturday had been a really good experience, despite his nerves.
He added: "Most of my friends took the mickey out of me but my mum absolutely loved it and she was so proud."
"I didn't really get to meet Cilla except for during the performance. She seemed all right but I don't really remember seeing her.
"I was a bit disappointed not to get chosen but I was so scared I just wanted to get off the stage.
When asked why he went on the show, Paul said: "I don't want to be on TV or anything but everyone has heard of Blind Date so I thought I will try and get on there."
Paul is a Business Studies student at Bournemouth University and attended the John Hampden Grammar School in High Wycombe.
Paul had to attend two gruelling auditions before he was selected from 150,000 hopefuls for the show.
