A FORMER heroin addict was said to be a perfect example of destruction brought about by using drugs, when his sentence was adjourned.
Michael Lagan, 28, of Philps Close, Lane End, pleaded guilty to seven charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday.
The court heard how the assaults, all of them against the same woman took place between October 1, 1999 and October 7 last year.
Lagan also admitted a further charge of common assault against her on September 29, and one of affray on April 4.
The prosecution accepted not guilty pleas by Lagan to other allegations of actual bodily harm, another affray, making a threat to kill and false imprisonment.
Paul Reid, defending, told the court: "The defendant is an example of the destruction that is brought by drink and drugs."
He added that Lagan was currently drug free and "unrecognisable from the person described in the papers".
Lagan was remanded in custody and his sentence was adjourned for reports.
