AN improved learning resource centre costing £85,000 is set to give children with special educational needs the chance to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
The development, at The Cressex Secondary School, Holmer Lane, High Wycombe, would be an extension to the existing centre at the school.
The project is still seeking planning permission but headteacher Lorna Caldicott is hopeful of success.
She said: "The learning resource centre is for special needs pupils and is designed to help them improve their literacy and numeracy."
The school introduced an Integrated Learning System for special needs pupils in September which offers computer-aided learning resources.
The children spend three 20-minute sessions per week working on literacy and the same on numeracy.
The cost of the new development would be met by the Department for Education and Employment.
