MEMBERS of the Dunkirk War Veterans Association have given a token of thanks to the High Wycombe Royal British Legion.
Former president of the association, High Wycombe and Mid-Bucks Branch, Major Peter Mogford presented a painting by Cundell of the evacuations from the Dunkirk beaches during World War II to the RBL president Monty Seymour on Sunday.
Mr Seymour said it was a great honour to accept the painting of the evacuation of the soldiers.
Three commemorative plaques were also given to the RBL, based in St Mary Street, High Wycombe.
Charlie Bistow, who has been social secretary of the veterans' association for 28 years, said: "The presentation to the Royal British Legion was in appreciation of the help and guidance give to our branch over many years.
"We hope to continue the friendship in the future."
