A MOTHER and her three children had a lucky escape after their car careered into a river.
The woman had been driving with her children down Watery Lane in Wooburn Green when the accident happened at 8.50 yesterday morning.
Police believe the black Astra skidded on ice and ended up plunging down an embankment opposite The Falcon pub and into the river.
Firefighters from Beaconsfield and High Wycombe were called to the scene, but the woman and her children had managed to get out of the car without being injured.
