A COUPLE have returned from a charity mission to Romania after taking Christmas presents to under-privileged children.

Wally and Doreen Woolf, of Bell Street, Princes Risborough, travelled to Romania to hand out presents to 48 former street children in a village near Arad, 200 miles from Timisoara. People from the area had donated money so that each child could receive gifts worth £20.

"We asked the children to think of two presents they might liketo the value of £5 or £10," Mrs Woolf said.

The Woolfs, who attend Princes Risborough Baptist Church, bought the presents out in Romania then wrapped each one individually. They have been visiting Romania for more than ten years, to help out house parents, the people who look after the children.

"We were able to give them a box of chocolates so it wasn't just the children who received presents," Mrs Woolf said.

Mrs Woolf paid tribute to all who contributed, especially Naphill and Walters Ash County Combined School, Kilnwood, which donated £240.
