ON December 14, the Pensioners Voice group made its annual trip to Turners, Northampton, conveyed to the venue by Motts Coaches and a very helpful driver.

Imagine the pensioners' feelings when many of us entered the High Wycombe Bus Garage in Newlands to use public transport to complete the journey home.

The state of the bus station was simply disgraceful with litter scattered everywhere and the seats covered in grime.

It was so bad I have requested time at the next Town Forum Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 24 so that the state of the bus station can be discussed.

The previous weekend, I had spent time in Munich travelling on public transport and the contrast to High Wycombe was unbelievable.

If we expect the population to use public transport, then the facilities must be better than those currently in the Third World.

We were always taught at Hazlemere Church of England School that cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Perhaps the local bus companies can make a New Year resolution to clean up both the bus station and the buses which leave a lot to be desired.
