STUDENT volunteers got their hands dirty helping paint the Forest Road Meeting Hall on Colchester’s Greenstead estate.
Essex University Union volunteers, better known as the V-Team, were helped by Colchester Council street wardens and members of Voices for Greenstead residents’ group.
Keith Rowland, volunteer manager for the student union, said: “This was our way of giving something back to the community and showing people the positive side of having a university on their doorstep.”
Paint and brushes were provided by Colchester Borough Homes, which leases out the meeting hall.
