TINY tots ran, crawled, jumped and laughed as they took part in a sports day to celebrate a nursery’s 30th birthday.

Springlands Nursery in Colchester has been marking its special year with a series of celebrations.

About 40 youngsters pulled on their running shoes at Gosbecks School nearby.

Children, aged between two and six, took part in themed races while the younger ones took part in the toddler tumble.

The nursery started with one room of 12 children in Shrub End Road.

Today it cares for 100 children across two sites in the road. Karen Travers, part of the senior management team, said: “Everyone enjoyed the day and all the children thought they had won which was lovely.”
