A missing man has been found following extensive searches by police, family and volunteers.
Michael Bell, 57, left his home in Finchingfield on Tuesday.
There had been a potential sighting of his car, a black Nissan Note, in Fingringhoe at 9.30am today.
He was discovered at a nature reserve at Fingringhoe Wick at about 12.30pm.
He has been reunited with his family and will be taken to hospital for a check-up.
Essex Police thanked the media and members of the public who have helped in the successful search for Mr Bell.
A number of family members and friends are joining the police search of the Fingringhoe and Colchester areas.
Mr Bell's wife Jane and other relatives and friends also organised a search of remote pathways and tracks around Finchingfield this morning.
