COLCHESTER inventor's wee inspired product could be stocked at 400 nationwide superstores.
Andy Ruddock, of West Mersea, invented the Ezy Peezy, a small device which fits inside the toilet pan and negates the need to flush when someone goes for a wee.
Instead, the device releases chemicals, which clean the pan, reduce odours and can save more than 100 litres of water a day in a home.
Mr Ruddock has been allowed to sell the product in a trial at Home Bargains, based at Turner Rise Retail Park, Colchester.
If the trial is successful it will be passed for national roll-out around 400 stores.
Mr Ruddock has been working with Anglian Water, which will distribute a limited number of Ezy Peezys to customers free, on a trial basis.
He said: “Since Anglian Water’s interest, it has generated interest from other water companies.”
