In today's Gazette: Colchester Academy must do better according to schools' inspectors.
Ofsted says the attendance record is not good enough, too many children are being excluded and standards must rise.
* A driver who reached speeds of up to 105 mph in a bid to evade police has been jailed.
Ben turner, 23, led police on a 20 minutes, high speed chase around Colchester town centre and was jailed for ten months.
* Burglars borke into a primary school for the third time and stole computers worth £9,000.
The raiders took 15 Hewlett-Packard 620s laptops from Highfields Primary School in Lawford.
* A school has launched an investigation after its fire alarm failed to sound when a fire broke out.
The small fire started in the roof of Harwich and Dovercourt High School but when the fire alarm was activated it did not start.
