Weekly bin bag collections to remain in Colchester for the next five years

COLCHESTER households will have their bins bags picked up every week for the next five years.

Communities secretary Eric Pickles has awarded Colchester Council £2.35 million to introduce a food recycling system across the borough over the next three years.

The funding comes with the proviso that the authority must retain weekly black bag pick-ups for at least five years.

Justinhope, weekly bin bag collections in Greenstead only stopped for the roads which were taking part in the waste food collection trials. We have still been getting a weekly bin bag collection here in Almond Way, Greenstead.
