Birkett Long is inviting residents to a free and informal seminar which will explain in an easy-to-understand language what you need to know to challenge a will, claim an inheritance, make a will and powers of attorney.

The seminar is ideal for anyone considering challenging a will, trying to claim an inheritance, or those who want to prevent a challenge to the distribution of their estate.

It takes place on Tuesday from 9am to 10.30am at Prested Hall, Prested Hall Chase, Feering.

Amanda Smallcombe, partner at Birkett Long, said: “Disputes concerning entitlement to someone’s estate after they have died are becoming increasingly common whether or not there is a will.

"There are some misconceptions about the basis upon which a person can challenge a will or otherwise be entitled to the estate of someone who has died.

"We are hosting the seminar to address these misconceptions and break down the processes so people find them easier to understand.”

The free, friendly and informal seminar will be presented by Amanda, Caroline Dowding and Emma Harper.

They all have a wealth of experience in these matters and are used to presenting these areas of law in an easy to understand language.

There will be the opportunity for one-to-one chats with the experts after the seminar. There is no obligation to take any further action.
