Fire spreads to Tiptree home

A BLAZE spread from a garage to a house in Tiptree.

Firefighters battled the flames, at Brookland, from 1.40am on Saturday.

The fire affected two vehicles before spreading to the front of a neighbouring house.

Crews were able to put out the flames by 2.15am.

It is thought the fire was started by an electrical fault.

Electric cigarettes can be a fire hazard when charging.

Never leave them unattended when they are on charge.

A friend nearly lost his house in a fire due to one exploding, Because they are made of a metal tube they go off like a rocket and shoot the innards across the room and the fire starts some distance away from the e-cigarette
