3:50pm Friday 19th October 2012 in News
TWO robbers hit a man in the face and stole his wallet before fleeing.
The attack happened near an alleyway between Blenheim Road and Park Road in Clacton.
The victim, 40, was walking near the alley when two young men approached him.
One of the men punched the victim in the face straight away.
He handed over his wallet to prevent any further violence, and the two crooks ran away towards Park Road.
Investigating officer Det Con Annalise Redden said: “This attack happened in the middle of the afternoon so we are hopeful that motorists or passing pedestrians would have seen it.
“We would urge anyone who may have been in the Blenheim Road area at the time to contact us as they may have seen these two offenders either before or after the robbery, in which case they are key witnesses.”
One of the robbers is described as black, about 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build and aged in his mid to late teens.
The other crook is white, about six foot tall, aged in his mid-20s, of slim build, with stubble on his chin. He was wearing a baseball cap, grey hoody and blue jeans at the time.
The robbery happened at about 3.30pm on Thursday October 11.
Anyone with information should contact detectives at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
