Mum appeals for crossing on busy road

A MUM is calling for a zebra crossing to be installed on a busy Colchester road to make the school run safer.

Natasha Okodiya, 33, lives on a new estate off the Northern Approach Road and crosses the arterial route twice daily to take her son Malachai, four, to Queen Boudica Primary School.

But along with other parents in the same estate Natasha, of Hakewell Way, is forced to use a small traffic island to get across the 40mph stretch.

Are Zebra Crossing safer? I would have thought traffic lights would be better, seems like another oversight by the road planners.

I think it is really funny when a I get a response like this, another person who knows **** all, more people get killed on Zebra crossings than any other road crossings, that includes rail crossings. The facts are on line, google away.

Very true Joker50 traffic lights would certainly be miles safer and surely a better option.
The real xxxdave - there are a number of counselling or support groups which I am sure could help you with your problems, you just need to approach them !!!
