THE FAMILY of an xfactor finalist hope he will win back votes this weekend.

Greg West, former Harwich and Manningtree pupil whose family is from Clacton, is part of boy band District 3.

The trio got through to the live shows of the popular ITV television show, but were in the bottom two acts on Sunday October 14.

After a sing-off the judges could not decide between the band and Melanie Masson from the Over 28s category and sent the decision to deadlock – where the act with the fewest public votes is sent home.

Greg and his band mates Micky Parsons and Dan Ferrari-Lane were saved.

Greg’s dad, Stuart, said he hopes the boys will do better this weekend when acts will perform club classics.

“Hopefully viewers will see the boys perform as they like to,” he said.

Last week District 3 was criticised by judges for the “dated” song choice despite a “faultless performance”.

Greg, who grew up in Dovercourt before moving to Clacton was shown raising concerns about the song choice in footage before the performance.

He'll only win if SC says so - the public vote doesn't count for anything.

Good luck lads. I don't think many public votes are made anymore as everyone believes the show is a fix especially when people like Rylan remain in the show whilst people who can really sing are sent home. Says it all in my opinion.
