Lifesavers called to distress flare reports near Mersea

LIFESAVERS were called to a possible distress flare off Mersea Island on Friday night.
Thames Coastguard and West Mersea RNLI travelled out to sea to investigate at around 8.45pm on Friday, October 12.
Nothing was found and the search units then stood down.
