Armed forces scheme wins praise

COLCHESTER Council has been honoured by the Royal British Legion for its efforts to support the Armed Forces community.
The council was praised by the country’s leading armed forces charity at a reception publicising the legion’s best practice guide to community covenants.
The scheme was introduced by the Government last year and aims to improve the relationship between communities and serving and reservist armed forces personnel, veterans and their families.
