A CAMPAIGN to make School Road safer has enjoyed its first success.

The Gazette joined forces with schools and residents aftera Tiana Page was knocked over and suffered serious injuries on her way to Monkwick Junior School in December last year.

More than a 1,000 people signed a petition to improve the road, which is used by pupils at Monkwick Junior, Monkwick Infants and Thomas Lord Audley schools.

It has been revealed parking restrictions are being introduced 30 minutes earlier during the morning school run.

I live on a school run.
there are parking restrictions that are regularly ignore by the parents travelling, less than a mile, to drop their children off.
Yellow lines ignored and parking across driveways and across the corners of junctions.
So parking restriction will not make any difference
Their inconsiderate parking restricts the view and also force the children INTO the roads.
Parents state they have to drive the children to school because the traffic is dangerous.
Funny how when the schools are on holiday we hardly see any traffic.
I live on the main Colchester to Maldon road, so lack of traffic is not due to being a side road.
