Essex: Charity sets up bulk oil buying scheme
9:00am Monday 15th October 2012 in News
A charity is set up a bulk oil buying scheme to help residents get a better deal on the cost of fuel.
The Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) said members have saved about £50 per 1,000 litres against the average price quoted on buying day.
The RCCE said joining means residents do not have to shop around and they benefit from bigger buying power because the charity is part of a national scheme with other rural community councils.
Members pay an annual membership fee of £20 for domestic, £30 community organisations, or £100 businesses and co-ordinators receive free membership.
