TINY Mia McGlown has attracted celebrity fans after becoming one of the youngest people to Stand Up To Cancer.

Next Friday, Mia’s parents will count how many times the nine-month-old baby rises to her feet and donate £3 to the Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 campaign every time.

Mia’s dad Martin posted the idea on Facebook and Twitter, attracting more than 10,000 Facebook “likes” and support on Twitter from celebrities including comedian Alan Carr and presenter Davina McCall.

Campaigners believe scientists can make rapid advances in the treatment and prevention of cancer. Stand Up To Cancer intends to raise £10 million to help fund the research.

Martin said: “We’re very fortunate that Mia and her older brothers – Josh, 8, and Harvey, 7 - are healthy. Our hope is that by the time they become parents themselves, children's cancer won't be a worry.”
