University's History department celebrates 40 years

ESSEX University’s History department is celebrating its 40th birthday.
Academics and students past and present will mark the occasion with an event at Firstsite on Friday.
The event will include a brief lecture on the history of the department by Professor Steve Smith, a longstanding member of the team who has recently taken up a post at Oxford University.
