In today's Gazette: Bargain Booze Shame

In today's Gazette: Cut price booze offers at clubs and pubs in Colchester have been criticised by licensing bosses.

The deals, including one pub offering hots of absinthe for £1.95, have been described as irresponsible.

* A routine eye check unearthed a shock diagnosis for Joanne Dixon - a potentially fatal cancerous tumour.

Quick treatment saved Joanne's sight in her right eye and the tumour has now been shrunk with radiotherapy.

* Two fires and a fight broke out in one night in a "house of horrors" in Wivenhoe. Police and firefighters were called to a suspected arson and report of a brawl at the notorious Gothic House in High Street.

* A family have been left homeless after a car crashed into their semi-detached home in Brantham.

Supply and demand. Educate the users of alcohol rather than criticise the vendors. No one forces people to get smashed on a night out. It is a personal decision. I should know. Mrs Stimpson is a nightmare when she's out on the razz in town.
