In today's Gazette: A man tried to abduct a ten-year-old boy near a shop in West Mersea.
Joshua Theobald was told he had "on the bingo" so should get in the man's car in Kingsland Road but Joshua told the man to go away.
* Colchester's district commander Chief Insp Paul Wells has backed the Gazette's Lives Not Knives campaign.
*A bodyguard who once protected the late singer Amy Winehouse has been accused of being involved in a murder plot. Security guard Daniel Yates is among four men accused of comspiracy to kill Jamie Usedon outside his home in Clacton. He denies the charge.
* A devastated family are traumatised after seeing a cat torn apart by out of control dogs in Colchester.
